Here is my entry for the JANUARY PROKO CHALLENGE #prokochallenge hosted by @prokotv and judged by @aaronblaiseart who happens to be my favorite artist to learn from.

The story behind this image is I find that Tiko is most eager to give me pony kisses right after she has slopped around in her water trough lol. I wanted to depict her loving and goofy nature, and the joy she brings me every time I see her, and of course memories of a warm sunny day.

The challenge was to draw a portrait of our pet, which I was super excited about! This piece was a fun challenge as I didn’t just use a single reference as I wanted a specific angle for more of an emotional effect. I have spent far too much time straight up copying photo references in the past. Which may cost me in the anatomy accuracy but oh well. 😂 This was done on my ipad with procreate.

Doing a bit of house keeping as far as my skills go. So I took the holidays and did some studies on fabric as well as a couple life drawings, one of my dad, and the other on the drive home. Also attempted another self portrait, but not too happy with it, so I did a caricatured one with Arrow while he was watching The Iron Giant during supper. I am loving the flexibility of my ipad and procreate!
